Losing CSS styling on my dashboard?
-
OK this is strange. I had trouble bringing up my blog in my browser because some security certificate expired. I created a new one then I could see my blog just fine.
But, when I click on “my dashboard” all my CSS styling is gone! It’s just straight text and photos, all flush left.
Is this just a glitch and I should sit tight? I emailed support and am waiting for a response, but wondered if anyone else is having this problem. If so I’ll just wait and let WP fix itself as it always does.
Thanks!

Try clearing your cache, cookies and restarting your browser. It looks fine from here. (And you might want to link your username to your blog – see here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-make-your-name-link-to-your-blog?replies=54 .)

Yea, the front page looks OK, it’s the “dashboard” that’s lost its styling (you can’t see that, I don’t think, unless you’re a WP tech). I don’t, incidentally, pay for CSS styling so this is a WP thing I’m pretty sure.
And thanks for the link! I’m still getting started here. I appreciate the help!

Oh I’m an idiot, that date (under our names) is today’s date. ROFLOL. What can I say, just got back from the DR with some percocets.

No, volunteers in the forum can’t help. But since no one else is reporting a problem with the dashboard, it’s likely on your end. Try what I mentioned above and see if that solves the problem. If not, you should contact support.

(Thanks Vivian!) SacredPath, I’m not sure it’s a WP thing after all, I think it’s a Firefox thing. Using IE (which I dislike) it works just fine. I reinstalled the new Firefox but it’s still doing the same thing. I’m going to go and check on my other computer.
Thanks a bunch!

It’s also a Safari thing, and I also had it happen when I tried with Opera (I keep it around for testing).

What it all boils down to is that your web browser is not able to find the CSS files for the admin areas and/or your blog. In other words, the CSS files are not being served up by the wordpress servers. When it happened in Safari, I looked at my activity monitor and the CSS file was “not found”.

That definitely sounds like a WP issue, not a browser issue. And yes, it’s Friday, the traditional day for things to go wrong.
