Lay out problem
-
The wellknown effect: on the homepage the widgets are pushed to the bottom and the widget columns (2) pressed together. I’ve shrunk the largest images, some were 500 pixels wide. But I just saw in FAQ that the Andreas04 template guarantees 574 pixels.
The postings when opend by individual link show the layout as it should be, it’s only a homepageview problem. So I may be caused by something else. I didn’t change anything in the widget sector, by the way. And I refreshed the template, but it didn’t help…

…Can’t edit my reaction??
Oké, I forgot the link:

Are you pasting in from Word, by chance? I see this post:
http://planetbarebottom.wordpress.com/2008/02/02/the-bible-disrobed-4/
and the font etc is completely different. If you’re pasting from Word or from elsewhere on the web you may be including invisible HTML tags that are causing this problem. I would edit the entries I’d posted in this manner and use the “clean up code” broom icon on the Advanced Toolbar to fix any unclosed tags. -
There’s probably some code in there that needs to be cleaned up. Start by setting the number of posts on the page to 1, which should allow you to locate the offending post. Then edit it and use the brush on the extended menu to clean up the code.

I found the culprit and did the Brush…(the utensil didn’t mean a thing to me, so I wouldn’t have found this method in a million years…) The layout is still askew. This messy code, can I find it myself in HTML or will it not be visible?
About these different fonts…I copypaste from Notepad, totally basic text, the fonts & all other make up I do with the text editor of Andreas04.

I admit that when a few hours back I added an image in the faulted post, I had some difficulties with the text, it was all centered and in cursive and it took me a few tries to clean that out.
-
Then you haven’t found the culprit yet. Did you try setting the number of posts to display to 1 as I mentioned above?
-
Pasting from Notepad and doing formatting online should be okay. It’s strange, I don’t see what could be causing this now. I’d suggest going in to Edit the troublesome post and copying all the contents, then deleting it and making a new post with that content. Click the clean up brush before hitting Publish and report back if that solves things.

I worked up from one post, and had a hit at nr 4.
Yes, deleting and posting afresh is probably the best thing, I’ll do it tonight. Thanks for the prompt reactions! -

I removed the post, lay-out fully OK again. Should it happen again, I’ll know what to do. Thanks for the support!
