large picture slideshow on home page

    I am brand new at this and have no idea how to make the a large slideshow on my home page. I would like for the slideshow to be centered, have no colored background/border and to be large. Also, the page is currently showing archives and meta on the right side of the page which I would like to remove.

    Help please.

    When setting up your theme’s front page, the first place to look is its Showcase page https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/adelle/ This will also give you information about any special page templates available for your chosen theme.

    Adelle doesn’t have a built in front page post slider like some other themes. If you don’t have your heart set on using Adelle and since you have just set up your site, you may want to browse the available themes that do: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider/

    You could use the Slideshow feature http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/, which will fill the entire width of your theme’s content container. However, unless you have at least the Premium Bundle upgrade, which will allow you to change your theme’s stylesheet, you won’t be able to change the background color of the slideshow.

    The widgets you see on the right side of your site are the theme’s default set of widgets. Once you add your own widgets at Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets, the default set should go away.
