Kubrick on free blog?

I am returning to WordPress after three years on Tumblr. When I have established blogs on WordPress in the past, I’ve used the Kubrick theme. However, when I went to establish my new blog, I noticed that the Kubrick theme was not available for the WordPress.
Is Kubrick no longer available for the free blogs? If so, why? It’s a wonderful, flexible, yet simple theme.

Kubrick had a long run as the WordPress default theme, and was retired in 2013, after serving admirably for many years. It was not responsive – so it didn’t adjust to mobile devices, used by a huge proportion of people – and was dated design-wise.
