thanks mike and sonofbruce. i was just writing a post and i noticed where it said draft, and i saw that the tags show up after hitting save. in addition, i noticed that you can click on drafts on the dashboard. i will try to get used to all of that. what really bugs me the most is not having the categories on the side. i can live quite well with all the rest, but i find that very cumbersome.

You do have a choice. You can get hosting and install an old version of WordPress and it will be very similar to the old version.
