Issue with Gateway Blog page text

  • I’ve been battling the blog page on the gateway theme for an hour
    https://wordpress.com/theme/gateway
I can’t give the blog page it’s own attributes. All I can do it pair it up with another page. All I actually want to do is for the text that I put on the blog page as its little descriptor to actually show up.
Instead I either get nothing, plus the blog posts
    or
I get the text from the home page, which I don’t want.
I just want the blog text to show up on the blog page. That’s all I want.
Why is the blog page being treated differently than the other pages and how can I get the blog page text to exist?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

By default the front page of your WordPress.com site will display latest posts from your blog. You have the option to set up a separate page to display your recent posts elsewhere on your site and display only text by creating a static blog page. Please read the below support documentation for step by step guide and customize it according to your requirement.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you.

  • I have the same but opposite problem as saval20j. I have my home page set up but I do not want any text. I want it to go straight to the featured posts without a paragraph or giant space. Is this possible? It seems like even if I delete the content in the Home page, there is still a huge gap where it would be.
