Is there an expiry date for articles kept on Freshly Pressed?

Why is there a 2005 article in Freshly Pressed called “Being Poor.” I was about to comment until I realized there was no point because of the year. Doesn’t Freshly Pressed mean more recent postings?

Like any other posts, Staff select posts for featuring on the freshly pressed posts page, they get a day in the sunshine, and the next day other posts are selected and appear above them.

I just checked and saw exactly what you mean. I have no idea why that old post is appearing on the top and I tagged this thread for a Staff explanation. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hi there,
In general, our team selects recent posts for Freshly Pressed. However, older posts may also be selected when they have excellent, timeless content or if the older content is newly relevant. The date on the post is when it was published, but it was just selected recently for Freshly Pressed. :)
