Instagram widget is massive on the side bar
-
Hi there,
I’m having trouble with the Instagram widget. I’m using Gridspace and for some reason the 2 by 2 Instagram grid comes out so massive that it spreads down across the side bar. I didn’t have such a problem when I was using a previous theme.
Is there anyway I can reduce the size of it so that the 4 instagram thumbnails appear as a small grid in the side bar?
your help is most appreciated!!

I just tried this in Gridspace, and when I set the Instagram widget to 2×2, I only get one column with two images, and they don’t leave the sidebar area.
I noticed that you had deactivated the widget. Can you try it again and if you are still getting the same effect, could you take a screenshot for me? You could upload it to your media library so I can take a look.

I am having the exact same issue. I am using Gridspace and my Instagram widget began displaying my photos in one column even though I had set it to display in three columns (making a 3×3 grid). The change happened suddenly and despite my settings for three columns, it only shows as one column (with large photos). I have deactivated it for now.

In order to investigate this further, I would like to see the widget live on your site, or at least a screenshot for how it appeared to you, as I was not able to reproduce it based on the information here.
It would also help to know the operating system and browser/browser version you are using to view the site with the widget in place (when it malfunctions) as the issue may be with how the theme renders on certain platforms.

Thanks for your assistance. Here are two screenshots, each using a different browser that I have access to at the moment. The instagram widget is on the left:
Firefox 24.0 http://wp.me/a192z7-2aZ
IE 8 http://wp.me/a192z7-2b0These were taken under Windows XP.

Ah, okay I can see what you’re talking about now.
I have reported this issue to our developers and will let you know when it’s been resolved.
Also, I noted in your screenshot that your IE 8 images are not displaying correctly in general. You may wish to update your browser to IE 10.

Thank you for your help! IE 8 is on my work computer so I have little control over the version :)

I am having the same issue with safari, the Instagram Widget on Gridspace is huge. I have removed it for the time being until this has been resolved as it looks daft. http://www.whaleandquail.com

Thank you for the update, Jane. I have let our developers know that Safari is doing the same thing.

Howdy! Just an update — the issue with the Instagram widget in the Gridspace theme has been fixed. It should now work properly. Thank you for your patience and, if you have any future questions about Gridspace, you can ask the theme authors directly in the Gridspace forums: http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/gridspace

Hi there, I appear to be having what I think is the same issue in the Yoko theme. Multiple columns in the Instagram widget don’t seem to work at all now, whether 2 or 3 are selected.
Site is at http://danwillettaudio.com
Many thanks if you can help!

Hi Dan – Thanks for the report. I’ve opened a bug report for this in Yoko, and will keep you updated.
