inserting code for plugin into template
-
Installation of some plugins requires that you write statements such as ‘<?php wp_plugin-name(); ?>’ into variously “the template in the loop area” or into “your ‘index.php’ or ‘header.php'”.
I know HTML, but not much about PHP. My question is, do I have the file and the right place? (code below: from the index.php file in the “Almost Spring” theme directory from my installation.)
‘ <p class=”postfeedback”>
” rel=”bookmark” title=”<?php _e(‘Permanent link to’); ?> <?php the_title(); ?>” class=”permalink”><?php _e(‘Permalink’); ?>
<?php comments_popup_link(__(‘Comments’), __(‘Comments (1)’), __(‘Comments (%)’), ‘commentslink’, __(‘Comments off’)); ?>
‘
Here is the code I mean
‘ <?php wp_notable(); ?>
<?php easy_announcement(); ?>
<!–
<?php trackback_rdf(); ?>
–></div>
<?php endwhile; ?> ‘

Sorry, but this board is for wordpress.com support only. Now you’ve made the move to self-hosting you need to head on over to their online documentation, or if you can’t find the answer there, wordpress.org support. Good luck!
