in blog home my youtube vid just shows as a url link … ugly, how to fix

hello all from ireland
ive recently made a website using the sela theme
this is my problem …
i can make a youtube video appear as a blog post, that is fine, but when viewed from the home screen it just shows the url and not the video
is there any way to have the video show up on the blog home screen
if not could i get audio to show instead, as i have blog posts that are embedded audiomack files but again, on the home screen it just appears as an ugly url
i know u can insert a link into a blog post, but is this really my only option
