The links you used are not working, for some reason. If you go to https://i2.paste.pics/562ed620025ebd89fead8425835b65c9.png, you’ll see the error:
But yes, once you have a working link, the image should be embedded correctly.

Nope the first time I clicked that link I saw the pricing page the next time I saw the same 502 error page
Any ideas of why that is happening?

I got one.
Do you think it has to do with which site is used to be able to embed the image in the forum?
Does it work using snipboard.io and doesn’t work using paste.pics?

@ryrhino00 I’m not sure why you want to add a link to the image? But let me add my inflated 2¢:
If you want to share a link to a page, like the above Plans page, or an article in the support site in your forum reply, you can use the LINK button above the reply box and add the link to whatever text you highlight, like so: Here is a link to our current plans
<a href="https://wordpress.com/pricing/">our current plans</a>
or even just pasting the link https://wordpress.com/pricing/ directly in your reply without using the LINK button.On the other hand, if you want to show someone where to click on that Plans page to change from Pay Annually to Pay Monthly, then that is where you’d want to add an image with the IMG SRC tags.

Hope that helps.

@justjennifer I was practicing with webpage images on wordpress.com to find out if I could get them to show on this forum. They were not pages I was planning on using to answer questions.
-
👍 Got it!
I’m not clear on why Staff advised one needs to use the A HREF tag when adding images with the IMG SRC tag (unless you want to link your image to something).
You can display an image in the forums by using only the IMG SRC tag
<img src="https://snipboard.io/YpwJ2W.jpg"/>
Maybe all this will be irrelevant at some point since Staff also said
We soon hope to have an easier way to add images, though.
Happy news! ☺

I was unable to post this image on https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/i-cannot-laugh-my-wordpress-blog/#post-3887743
Should I be able to only use the `<img src= code to show an image on a post? That @justjennifer said in her reply?
Please tell me why I was unable to post that image

Here is the code I used
<img src="https://paste.pics/ef6858b4b975f23e448d0ce6835581b0"/>

I answered you in the other thread. https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/i-cannot-laugh-my-wordpress-blog/#post-3887757
Just to reiterate, image URLs end in JPG, JPEG, PNG or GIF. You need to use the full image URL when you want to display an image.

Does it make any difference for you to use
<img src="https://paste.pics/ef6858b4b975f23e448d0ce6835581b0" />
instead? -
Apparently not! Could it be related to the site’s own settings for hotlinking (embedding elsewhere).
I’m using this now:

Accepted answer
@ryrhino00 And I also mentioned this in my earlier reply here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/image-90/#post-3885402
Images need to end in an image extension, otherwise it won’t display.
Hello @staff-95percentghost nice to meet you. :)

If I use click on more on the past.pic website and copy either of those links since they end in a image extension seem to be able to display on this forum
I was not using the image extension that is why it would not display thanks @justjennifer for the explanation
