Hyperlinks now consistently visible on mobile
-
Hello. Whenever I post hyperlinks on my blog, they are rarely visible when viewing the post on my phone (which is brand new and up-to-date). On the post below, out of 4 hyperlinks, only one can be seen (highlighted in blue) when viewing the post on my phone (all are underlined and visible when viewing on my PC). If I tap one of the words I know is a link, I’m directed to the proper linked page, but it’s not a visible hyperlink. This happens consistently when reading posts on my phone. My most recent post had 12 links (much more than usual), and only 2 could be seen as being hyperlinks on my phone. Any thoughts?
Here’s the specific post mentioned above which has 4 hyperlinks:
The only one I see is the one in the second paragraph from the bottom which starts with “See how the American Airlines Center…” with the last word “here” showing up in blue.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

P.S. I recommend changing to a responsive layout theme and disabling mobile theme.
The mobile ready theme is default and a completely different theme that you do not need to enable at all. https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/
A responsive layout theme adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
As I said above the mobile theme is a completely different theme. When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme. Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme
You can test your site here https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/ and see if it it is rated as mobile friendly.
re: changing themes
Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.
After you change your theme all you need to do is reinstall Inactive Widgets where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
Note that every theme will have a detailed theme description page with set up instructions and a live demo site page that you can consult. Here’s an example:

I should post to forums on WP.org even though I use WP.com?
And I should have mentioned that my phone is an Android (Samsung S6).
Thanks.

Yes the android forums for both are at WordPress.ORG. That said, I think you should act on m second suggestion here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/hyperlinks-now-consistently-visible-on-mobile?replies=5#post-2437893 a use a responsive layout theme.

Wow. That’s a lot of information. I absolutely have to have mobile optimization, and I’m not sure I understand much of the above, but I’ll sit down with this later and try to figure it out. Thank you.
-
It’s really not difficult. You change to a responsive layout theme and then disable the mobile (default) theme.

Is the Manifest theme not a responsive layout theme? A few months ago I discovered I could “optimize my blog for mobile devices” (I don’t even know if I’m using the right terminology here…), and I changed it in the settings. And it was such a relief when reading on my phone.
The only problems I’ve noticed are occasional lack of italicized words and visible hyperlinks.
-
Sorry but I am mutitasking from my business and cannot scroll through the free one column responsive layout themes here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout+one-column/?sort=free to see if Manifest is listed there or not.
-
It doesn’t appear to be on the list, but when I tested my site to see if it’s “mobile friendly” on the link you provided above, the result was “Awesome! This page is mobile-friendly.”
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fflashbackdallas.com%2F
I’m gathering you still suggest I change themes? I really love the Manifest theme and can live with hyperlinks not showing, unless there are other potential negatives with continuing as I have been.
-
If you love the theme then don’t change it.
