How to prevent subscription?
-
A new user appeared today as subscriber to my wordpress site but
I do not have subscription form on the site. So it must be some kind of lighter type of attack.
I could delete it in the admin panel manually. Butis there a way to protect the site against such subscriptions?
No info even by googling this topic. Perhaps in the forum it can be answered.

Hi there!
I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with another company (Nethely if I’m not wrong).
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites hosted elsewhere; we can only assist with sites hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.

Ok.
Since then it has been solved.
In general settings the “anyone can subscribe” has to be unchecked. -
That’s great news @vitisaureus. That setting is often overlooked. Excellent job on your part getting to the bottom of that! Happy blogging. :)
