How to optimize speed of site?
-
I installed wordpress recently on my website and it is not performing well in terms of speed. I have loked around the net at quite a lot of posts about site speed but there are different opinions – some suggest using CDN other don’t suggest it and so on. So i thought to ask here on the wordpress forums as well. How did u guys achieve top speeds for your websites? Thanks in advance!

Hey mate,
I recently released the ultimate guide to WordPress speed optimization and in it I share everything I have done in order to get my website to sub-one-second page load times.

It seems obvious to me that that you are not referring to the site linked to your username in the original post above as the site is devoid of any blogger created content.Assuming you are referring to another wordpress.COM hosted site read what follows. These are the ways to reduce page loading time:
1. Edit posts and insert “the more tag” so only excerpts appear on the fort page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/2. Reduce the number of posts appearing on the front page here > Settings > Reading
Blog pages show at most _ posts3. Reduce the number of images, optimize them and/or make them smaller.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/troubleshooting-images/4. Reduce the number of media embeds displayed and/or make them smaller.
4. Reduce the number of widgets in the sidebar and footer areas.
If however you are referring to a wordpress.ORG software install we do not provide support for that software here at all. You are posting to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here at wordpress.COM because that site is not hosted here, our support docs do not apply to it, and we do not provide support for sites we do not host.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
