How to keep the “latest” widget in k2

I have a blog that I’m just getting started, hosted for free on wordpress. In the beginning, the default sidebar has a “latest” icon that points to the RSS feed of the site. When I add my own widgets to the sidebar, it clears all of the default widgets. That’s fine, but I’d love to have a link to my own RSS feed, so I tried to add an RSS feed with a link to http://theviewpoint.wordpress.com/feed (my own feed). Instead of coming up, I keep getting the error “http://theviewpoint.wordpress.com/feed” I’m pretty new to all of this, and I’d really appreciate it if someone had an idea about what I’m doing wrong.
