How does WP manage subscriptions?

  • Please explain how WP manage subscriptions, specifically how they are generated from my website and delivered to my email.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hey anamericanvoicespeaks!

It appears that your site anamericanvoice.org is not hosted on WordPress.com. Right now it’s pointing to SiteGround.

Generally that means you are a WordPress.org user. While they might seem the same, there are actually some pretty substantial differences between the two systems. You can find out more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

The forum you’re on right now is dedicated to WordPress.com sites only. While we won’t be able to help you here, if you go to https://wordpress.org/support/ there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be able to get some assistance for your site.

With that being said, I can give you some information around how subscriptions work on WordPress.com. Readers of your website can follow your blog which will add them as subscribers. At that point they can choose to receive an email every time you post or to receive recaps at regular intervals(daily, weekly, etc). They can also opt out of receiving email and just read your posts in their WordPress.com Reader. You can read more about WordPress.com subscriptions here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/subscriptions-and-newsletters/

I hope this helps! Keep in mind there may be some differences between subscriptions on WordPress.com and WordPress.org so I highly suggest checking with the WordPress.org support forums just to be sure.

  • Huge help! Thx a million, now I can at least get to the right forum. LOL
