How do you disable the date on all pages except blog posts?
-
Hi,
I am using the “Spring Loaded” theme, and would like to disable the date on all pages EXCEPT for blog posts. Is this possible?
At the moment, on all pages, a small date tab appears at the top left-hand side of the post area.
Thanks in advance for your help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To edit this, you’ll need the Custom Design upgrade.
What you’ll need to do is add the following to your CSS stylesheet:
.page .post-date {display:none;}
-
Or you can simply switch to a different theme. Very few themes display the date on static pages – see here:

Actually, at one time in the past Staff mentioned that dates should not be appearing on static pages at all and I notice that in that list Panos mentions, the vast majority of themes mentioned are much older themes.
Couldn’t hurt to bring this to their attention. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Typical me, the one theme that I really like has a glitch!! Woe. Thank you, I will bring it to the support team’s attention.
I can’t really afford to get a Custom Design upgrade for this project – the whole reason I’m using a free blog. Never mind!
Thanks again :o)

It’s not “typical you”: lots of details vary from theme to theme, and it’s very unlikely that you’ll find a theme in which absolutely everything is the way you’d want it to be. I’m an experienced user, and for all the themes I like (including the ones I’m actually using in my blogs) I have a “yes but…” to say.
And I agree, it’s not worth buying the CD upgrade if you only want to change one thing.
