How do I transfer my domain?

    I have a .com domain registered with ionos. I’d like to move the domain and not be associated w Ionos at all. Can I move it to WordPress? Do I have to pay anything? I just purchased a premium plan today.

    Hi there,

    Yes you can transfer your domain for free, a domain transfer is included with your Premium Plan: https://wordpress.com/domains/add/transfer/bulletproofyourbodycom.wordpress.com

    Once the transfer is complete, as an added bonus we will add one year of free registration to the domain, so you will not need to renew until next year.

    Ok perfect. I will start the transfer process. They’re trying to charge me separately for an SSL Certificate, which I think is ridiculous. Wasn’t sure if that meant that I’d still be based at Ionos, just pointing to a different site. Thanks.

    It’s good to know that SSL is free on all WordPress.com domains, so once the transfer is complete your site will have an https address with no further actions on your part. Also once you transfer the domain, you would not have any connections to IONOS going forward that I can see.

    Once your transfer is complete let us know and we will change the domain settings to connect to your WordPress.com site, and then you are off to the races!
