Hi there,
I’ve reduced the prominence of the stats icon (the smiley face) in the theme. If you’d like to remove hide it altogether, you can do so with CSS if you have the Custom Design upgrade, as timethief mentioned.
If you did get the upgrade, the CSS to hide the smiley would be:
#wpstats { display: none; }
