How do I get that music to stop playing?

If you’re viewing the Reader on an iPad running the most up-to-date version of the WordPress app, you should see a list of blogs just like the desktop Reader, and clicking on the blog title will bring up the full text of the blog post including images and comments.

That does not happen on my iPad. Clicking on the blog title does not elicit any kind of response. I had a hunch something was going wrong at this point, because when I click on the title of the POST it brings me to a new page (in the Reader, not my neighbor’s blog).
So in other words, when I click on the blog title, nothing happens.

Is your WordPress app updated to the most recent version? Which version of the iOS are you running on your iPad (Settings > General > About)?
When I go to the Reader option in the WordPress app on my iPad, it looks something like this:
https://i.cloudup.com/CsoYjnuEZs.PNGWhen I click on the post title there, I go to the full-length post as so:

Hi
Whenever l open Worpress.com l get an accoustic guitar musical soundtrack playing. It seems to have been picked up from one of the blogs l follow. HOW do l switch this off and why did l get it in the first place? -
It’s because the reader is going through WordPress.com. I’m afraid short of unfollowing that blog, you may be screwed.

@redstuffdan, as I explained earlier in this thread, that’s likely caused by one of your blogs having an audio or video embed set to play automatically, and the Reader is picking up on that. I’ve reported that behavior but for not, there’s not much you can do other than to unfollow the blog in question.

Thanks Jackie
Found the culprit and unfollowed – problem solved. I flagged it up to the blooger who didn’t seem too concerned at all.

No, autoplay music users aren’t terribly concerned with the effect their music has on other people. In my experience, they’re the sort who go to a cafe and watch videos on their laptops with the sound coming out the speakers instead of using headphones.

In the latest updates, we’ve fixed the issue reported in this forum post where SoundCloud was autoplaying in the Reader. Thank you for reporting the problem, and apologies it took so long to update!
