How do I add a self hosted site to the new Windows App?
-
I installed the newly released Calypso for Windows app. How do I connect to my self hosted site? Jetpack is installed and manage is activated. It works on wordpress.com.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
That’s not a wordpress.COM issue. You are posting to the wrong support forum and we cannot help you here.
Note that Jetpack is a plugin used by WordPress.ORG bloggers to achieve parity with what we already have built in to WordPress.COM blogs. We do not provide Jetpack support on these wordpress.COM support forums.
re: Jetpack support
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if you can’t find help at either one then you can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_PageSee also https://apps.wordpress.org/support/

WordPress.com dropped support for Windows Phone app in 2014.

Thanks I’ll try jetpack support but please note that the link inside the app Help>Support takes you here!
-
Thanks for that link. I messed this completely https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2015/11/23/the-new-wordpress-dot-com/ I appreciate you sharing it here.
Thanks I’ll try jetpack support but please note that the link inside the app Help>Support takes you here!
How strange. I’ll type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hello,
So I just installed the new WordPress app and while I love the editing experience, I can’t find a way to add a source to my post. I end up having to go to the website anyway to add the source.
Am I missing something? -
@indospott
Thanks for posting here like I asked you to do. Though your issue is not exactly the same as glenntate964’s issue, you both need Staff help with this new windows app. Please be patient while waiting for them to respond. -
I’ve also just downloaded and installed the Windows app and left a comment on the News blog about where to get support for it. Will add here any reply I receive.
-
-
It doesn’t help that WP 4.4 dropped today as well..as far as the load on the support staff :)
-
Oh and here’s the update announcement link https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2015/12/09/the-new-wordpress-com-app-for-windows-is-here/
-
The reply I received in the News announcement recommended using the contact Support form, but since tt has already tagged this thread for Staff assistance, let’s wait for them.
-
@justjennifer
Aha! So the recommendation is to use https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ but I do agree with you. This thread is already tagged for Staff assistance and we Volunteers need to know how to respond to said issues. -
Indeed. And I also pointed out in my second comment that, as @glenntate964 mentioned, these Support forums are linked in the app itself, so we have both WPcom and Jetpack users posting here.
-
@justjennifer
Oh yeah … I’m with you for sure as I can foresee impending chaos if Staff do not change that support link and direct all the app support seekers and the Jetpack support seekers to the correct support forums. -
Hello,
I was excited when I noticed the new Windows wordpress.com app. I downloaded it and all was going well until I hit this error when logging in.The request to undefined failed (code ECONNRESET), please check your internet connection and try again.
This error occurred a few seconds after I type in my username/email and password and then click the “Sign In” button. I did notice though that the window kept going to a not responding and then back. Also the login box would fade very unsmooth and then the error would pop up directly under the “Lost your password?”.
I have tried restarting my computer, reinstalling it, disabling firewalls, and making sure I have a good internet connections. I don’t know what else could be the problem.
I am trying this on my Windows 10 laptop.
Thanks

Hi folks,
Can each of you verify whether:
– you’re able to manage the site from WordPress.com
and
– you’re using the same login with the app?
We’ll go from there.
-
As my original post says yes it works on wordpress.com and yes I’m using the same login. At the bottom of the login screen it has a link:
As you can see that is not what one would expect when clicking the link.
