has post by email been removed ?

I wanted to test the post-by-email but do not see the option in settings > writing .. has this been removed ?

That function appears to still exist for sites hosted here at WordPress.com via the
wp-admin dashboard (not sure if it still works in .org installations though, it may now need a plugin) although I doubt it is very popular now there are easier ways to add posts with apps etc.

It’s been a very long time since I was using WP but I now have a project that can benefit. I hope this post-by-email stays available. I see there is post-by-voice now ! -

On self-hosted sites it requires a plugin. Jetpack is the most common afaik, but there are other options as well: https://codex.wordpress.org/Post_to_your_blog_using_email
