  Is there a way to use Gravatar without WordPress.com? I do not intend to have a site with WordPress.com. Is there a cost in having an account only with WordPress.com? Can I close my account and still use Gravatar?

  Hey there, there’s no cost with having only an account; you don’t need a site here to use Gravatar, but a Gravatar and WordPress.com account are basically the same thing, so you can’t have one without the other. A few tips:

  • If our marketing emails aren’t relevant to you, you can stop them here.
  • You’re welcome to use our Reader to follow sites if you’d like.
