Google maps on mobile devices
-
Different pages on a blog I’m working describe different geographical areas. I have a Google map embedded on each of the pages and they look just great on my desktop PC. (The blog is not public yet.)
On my smartphone, though, there’s a problem on account of the touch screen. If I put my finger on the map and swipe up or down, it moves the map instead of scrolling the page. Since the map takes up most of the screen on the phone, this is not user-friendly. I would like the map to be “frozen.”
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Thanks.

@Timethief
My blogs are at WordPress.com. The scvgs.org blog is a redirect from azscvgs.wordpress.com, and the private blog is southeastaz.wordpress.com.I expect my users to being using a browser on a mobile device, not an app.
My question is not about wordpress.org or about apps, and is not specifically an iOS or Android question. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

@timethief: thanks for replying again. I thought of a workaround but haven’t tried it yet. In Windows I can use the snipping tool to make an image from the Google Map. Then I can insert the image into the page, and link the image to the map at Google. That way if the user swipes the whole page will scroll, but if she taps she can see the larger map.

Hi again,
I am visually challenged and don’t use a mobile. I do think Staff will be able to assist you though. -
