Google and Publicize
-
Just wondering if there are any plans yet for adding Google+ to the publicize feature. It would be very helpful! Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
you know that’s nice i hope wordpress would do that now.. :) though im a new user on google+ i think it is a nice way to publicize our blogs on it.
-
Google does not provide an API that wordpress can use for posting, and the reason they did not was to prevent robo-posting. They want to keep the content high quality is what I understand.
So, short answer: no publicize for Google + .
Just use the g+ share button on your posts after you publish them.
-
Given that using Publicize is an almost sure guarantee nobody will see your posts on FB, why would you want it for G+?
-
You mean there is no apps that connects to google ? Ever?
Maybe someday google will going to provide an API. I hope so. -
Google bans such apps. A couple of people have invented things that sort of do that, and Google has disabled them. Google only wants real people posting real content to Google+; they want to distinguish it from the spam that populates other social media platforms.

raincoaster “they want to distinguish it from the spam that populates other social media platforms.”
And that’s why we love google+
:D -
I’m waiting just a bit longer to be sure Google+ there is no app that allows autoposting of content. If that prevails then I will join Google+.
-
There IS no app. But get in there quick before EVERYONE is just one of those annoying people that reposts cool pictures with the word “cool” on it. The early weeks were by far the best, because of the quality of people and thus posts.

I’ve found out that Google+ is one of my top referrers! So I’d love a publicize feature for Google+ and WordPress.com
-
I second the idea; there are WP-to-G+ plugins for hosted WP blogs, it’s about time the publicize feature have G+ as an option.
-
This is nonsensical. Why does WordPress not make it possible to link or to publicize?
As usual, widgets for linking don’t work. Move with the times!

People just dont’ seem to get it. They want to robopost the same thing to Twiiter, facebook, yada, yada. Ho impersonal can one get? IMO mass robo-posting is immediate grounds for unfriending and unfollowing.
-
Facebook has been effective at both allowing people to robopost and automatically filtering those posts out of the news feeds, for which I am very grateful. If only Twitter had the same. Current studies show that only 1/3 of Tweets are actually authentic.
