Thank you very much for your time and patience, and look forward to hearing from you.

Hello
we want to know if we can actually shut it down and cut the payment off (credit card for premium) when its in the middle, that we dont want to have a website anymore…
Sorry that you are leaving us, but i understand when something is no longer needed.
To delete the credit card information from your account, go here:
https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/
click on manage payment. There is a helpful help document that can take you through the process of deleting your account located at:

Hi there,
You can cancel your upgrade plan at any time via the Purchases page. However, we only offer refunds on payments for 30 days, so if you cancel after 30 days you will not receive a refund. We do not issue pro-rated refunds for early cancellations.

Thanks a lot for your reply!
But then it means that even though it shows a price for PER MONTH, then I was kinda having to pay for a year fee, and then when i would stop from somewhere in the middle of the YEAR, i dont even get back the money for the upcoming months?
This is ODD…
Thank you very much!
Lu

Refunds https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/ are time limited.
• WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund from date of purchase on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
• The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
• It takes from 1 – 2 weeks or 7 – 10 business days for the refund to be received after canceling an upgrade and requesting one. (Depending on the country you live in it may take a little longer to get to your bank.)Cancelling domains
It is important to know that cancelled domains are not released by the registrar immediately. Also note that here’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use a domain again as it may be sold to someone else. Therefore you should cancel a domain, if and only if, you are sure you do not wish to use it again. Please see the appropriate process found here at Canceling and Refunding Purchases https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/#canceling-and-refunding-purchases to cancel and request a refund?

But then it means that even though it shows a price for PER MONTH
Though prices per month are listed on the pricing page per month we are billed annually and there are no prorated refunds. https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Thank you very much!
Can I kindly ask one more question? I have been trying to make the homepage background picture as a FULL SIZE for the full screen, but it never worked… Can I ask for help about how?
Thank you very much!

Hello again Lu
I have been trying to make the homepage background picture as a FULL SIZE for the full screen, but it never worked… Can I ask for help about how?
The theme you are using, “TheFour” is not a WordPress supported theme, rather a third party theme.
The documentation for your theme may be found at:
https://gretathemes.com/docs/thefour/
Perhaps the answer you seek is there.best,

Your site, https://hotelhetgemeentehuis.wordpress.com/, is using the Edin theme:
https://wordpress.com/theme/edin/
The picture that appears there as background is the featured image for the page. The only way that image could be stretched to the sides, beyond the margins of the page itself, is via custom CSS, and you’ll need the Premium or Business Plan to do that.
You can set a background image instead of a background colour for your theme in the Customizer, but that will appear behind the content area, so the image won’t be visible in the section where the content appears.
If you’re the same person as @thebeltandroadnl and you’re asking about https://thebeltandroadnl.com/, please log in as that account and then start a live chat at the link below so we can try and help with the CSS you’ll need for the change.
https://wordpress.com/help/contact
It’s safer not to assume if two users post in the same thread that it’s the same person. And please don’t refer Business Plan users to outside support, but instead remind them that they can get help via live chat.

@Kokkieh: I don’t have the magic all seeing powers y’all do so i have no way of knowing who is on the shiny new business plan. If i had a way to tell, i would gladly refer them to chat!
It seems the customer shifted gears and asked the next question about a different site without saying as much. Unless we’re told otherwise, its a guessing game as far as which site we’re supporting when multiple sites exist for the same customer.
As it stands, TheFour is still a 3rd party theme and so it made sense to refer to the theme’s creators. If “we” are now supporting third party themes then great! But “we” need to know this to prevent such misunderstandings!
And more often i find that “me too’s” are not the same person, but in this case it was easy to see that Lu was indeed the thread creator :)
Have a splendid day everyone!

That was in the email we sent out a couple months ago. Check the domain’s name servers. If it looks like a self-hosted site, but has our name servers, then it’s likely a WordPress.com site.
We don’t provide support for third party themes, but we do help any WordPress.com user with custom CSS, within reason. That has always been the case.

Thank you all for the replies and help!
Yes, I have two websites (worked for two different bosses) under my IP :)
One more question, for the website i have right now: https://thebeltandroadnl.com/
My boss wants it to be in two languages, Chinese and English. I checked online, somehow I would need to do a plugin: polylang, right? The thing is im currently using the MAC PRO laptop system, and I dont know if there is really a WORDPRESS MAC PC software version.
So do you guys know how I can solve this one out?
Thank you very much! A lot of respect and love!
Kind regards,
Lu

The Polylang plugin looks like a good option for a bilingual site, yes. I’ve never used it, though, so don’t take that as a recommendation :)

I’m not sure what you’re asking here. Your site is hosted online, not on your computer, so any changes you make to it are done directly on our servers, and you make those changes via your browser, not any special WordPress software.
If you want to set up a development site, in other words a copy of your site that you can work on offline, you can use an app called MAMP to do it. But because we don’t have FTP access on WordPress.com, there is no way to upload changes you make locally to the actual site on our servers. So aside from it being a place to experiment there’s not much sense in setting up a local environment if your site is with us.
-
Thank you very much, then how could I really do a bilingual site? ANYBODY? thanks a lot!
-
I thought you wanted to use the Polylang plugin. Your site has a Business Plan so you can install that plugin.
-
Yes, i want to use the Polylang plugin, but the description of it is confusing… and I couldnt find the button of the plugin under the theme customisation…
Could you please help me out for a little bit? (; Thanks a lot!

That plugin’s settings are in the WP-Admin dashboard, here:
https://thebeltandroadnl.com/wp-admin/
They’re right at the bottom of the menu on the left.
For help with the plugin itself you’ll need to post in that plugin’s forum:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/polylang
You can also start a live chat with us for help if you’re logged in as the thebeltandroadnl account, but our ability to help with specific plugins are limited – there are tens of thousands of WordPress plugins, and we only made a handful of them. We can’t help in any great depth with plugins we don’t make, so it’s best to get help from the people who do make the specific plugin.
