Gmail Email Forwarding
-
I paid $50.00 to get a gmail-hosted email address on 10/14. I never received info on how to set up the gmail. Additionally, at https://wordpress.com/my-domains, it still says, “If you recently purchased Google Apps through WordPress.com, your Google Apps control panel will appear here shortly.” At this point, I would prefer to cancel it and get refunded.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m happy to help you get this working, if you’d like to give it another try. Have you checked your spam folder, perchance?
If you’d still prefer a refund, let me know and I can take care of that for you.

Hi-
Our e-mail forwarding is not working now. How can I set up our e-mail forwarding through wordpress as it was before this gmail situation?
Thanks.

Yes I know of that guide. However, it says (and has said since the whole gmail thing started):
If you recently purchased Google Apps through WordPress.com, your Google Apps control panel will appear here shortly.
This domain currently has custom mail servers defined in its DNS settings. This means that WordPress.com Email Forwarding is not available for this domain, and that you should manage your email with your email provider.
The email servers for this domain are:
ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.and it won’t let me set up forwarding emails.

In https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/, there’s a note that if you’ve used a previous email provider (like Google Apps), you’d need to remove those mail servers from your DNS if you want to use forwarding:
If you’re no longer using that email host, move to Edit DNS and remove all of the DNS settings related to your email host. This will likely include MX, CNAME, and possibly A records.
