Fraudulent Payment
-
WordPress seem to have taken £62.40 out of my bank without my permission when my debit card has been removed from this site and this account has been closed for over a year.
They must have kept my card details on their database and renewed the contract without any communication or even a receipt or email.
How come they can do that?I have reported it as fraudulent to my bank but I am worried they’re going to keep doing this every year.
I can’t even see that transaction on my WordPress account.Has this happened to anyone else?
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Before start talking about fraude etc, did you check what that charge is about at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/?
Bij starting a dispute you block the situation for up to 80 days. You also have to pay a fee of 15$ to wordpress.com – https://wordpress.com/support/payment/chargebacks/

Hi there,
I am talking about Fraud because in my Purchases Menu there are no activities and no payment card. So, how come money was taken out? My bank labelled it as a suspicious transaction and fraud. They had to cancel my debit card as a result.
I just wondered if anyone had had a similar experience where WordPress clearly kept my bank card details on their database after I removed it from there over a year ago. -
Again: Before start talking about fraude etc, did you check what that charge is about at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ because that charge is probably connected to another account of yours …

I just noticed you have 2 wordpress.com accounts: https://wordpress.com/forums/users/armellelajuseee1d8b208/ and https://wordpress.com/forums/users/mellerubies/
-
yes, that’s correct and both are not active with the Purchases menu empty and no payment card attached…

Hi @mellerubies as mentioned by
staartmees
the wpchrg.wordpress.com site is a good place to start identifying where the charge comes from and what it might be related to. We’re happy to help with further questions about this!
