Favicon version of Avatar not updating
-
The original version of my avatar had a figure in a black “matted” area.
I later changed the size of the figure and eliminated the “matte”.
After cropping the image, the results page shows previews in three different sizes. They all look as expected on that page.
The various versions are also accessible via URLs to the images.
These versions of my avatar appear as expected:

If so, what can be done to update the image in the “favicon” version of the avatar?

We currently don’t have any use for the favicon version that i know of. I say “currently”, because the volunteers here in the forum never know what is coming down the pike from staff…

If you would like to join others requesting favicons then the process is to send in a feedback to staff during week days and to include all details re: avatar display, as well as the reasons for your request in it.

The 16×16 avatars are used in the ‘recent comments’ widget. I think they must be handled separately to the other sizes, because the same thing happened to me after changing my avatar. I sent a feedback and it seems to be a known issue.
Your 16×16 is showing the new version for me; if it’s still not showing up for you, try clearing your browser cache.
