Extracting only the posts according to category
-
Hi.
Situation:
I have a blog at wordpress.com and suppose I have 3 categories: A, B, and C.Objective:
I want to show all the posts from only category A on a different website, say http://www.example.com.Question:
How can I go about doing this? Please advise.
Thanks,

click on the category in your wp.com blog. take the link and put it in your other website.

Let me clarify, show all the posts of Category A without leaving the site domain. (rss?)

You can set up an rss feed for any category http://nameofyourblog.wordpress.com/nameofcategory/feed/

BTW the forum searchbox is your friend :) https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=10279&page&replies=5

Do I need to use an aggregator/parser extract all that xml stuff? Any open source stuff out there to extract all that stuff?
-
I’m confused. Couldn’t you simply create a feed to the category in question and then create a link to that category feed on the other site?

My apologies. I’m not exactly sure how the process works so perhaps I am asking my questions incorrectly. This is basically what I want to do (in PHP).
Suppose I have a website called mysite.com. On my site, I don’t want to implement a blog like wordpress.org. I want to maintain a site here at wordpress.com. How do I display my posts on my site as if the blog was actually built into mysite.com; extracting only the posts. Is there a portion of the PHP code that will need to make a call to the RSS feed filtering only the desired category? I’m not exactly sure how it works.
For example, when browsing the “RSS feed for this topic” at the bottom of .this page, IE shows xml while Firefox shows it like it would in a reader. How do I get the PHP to show it like a reader?

I know absolutely nothing about coding. All that I know is that at wordpress.com we cannot edit our themes. Your alternatives reagrading gettin an answer to your questions are to wait until another blogger who knows something about php comes onto the forum or to contact staff through the use of a feedback (button on the top right hand corner of any blog page).

Quite frankly, I do not think you can do this exactly as you want it. You might be able to use Iframes, but I’m not sure how to do that. I would suggest a straightforward copy/paste. It doesn’t take much time if you do it in the code editor.

Thanks everyone for your input. After some research I was able to find a solution and test it successfully. I share the report below, for future inquirers.
Solution: In order to extract the feeds according to category, pages, etc. a parser/aggregator is needed. For web purposes, PHP is a great way of going about it. magpierss seems to do the trick. The developer will need to read up a little bit about RSS in general and utilize magierss. Good luck.

Magpierss does work for php. There’s a number of them out there though but that’s one of them. Even wordpress uses that to pull a feed.
