Download error on Magalog, a recent theme: “The specified theme was not found”

  • Hi all, deeply impressed by the November 15 featured themes, especially Magalog. However, when I try to download it for use on my self-hosted WordPress page (as is offered on the page), I get linked to an error page with the text:

    {"error":"theme_not_found","message":"The specified theme was not found"}

Any way to fix this? and any workarounds to get my hands on that theme?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi there, @rk9zwh4y7d! 👋🏼

Thank you for bringing this up! I’ve notified the Themes team.

Meanwhile, I believe you should try this:

    1. Grab a zip of all themes from the Automattic Themes GitHub repository
    2. Extract it
    3. Compress the blogorama directory
    4. Install that theme zip into your WordPress instance
    5. Activate it

I tested it, and it seems to be the proper theme.

Here’s the Automattic Themes GitHub repository:

And here’s how to grab the entire repository:

    I hope this helps!

  • Wow, amazingly helpful – and great to know it was actually “hidden” in the GitHub repo under blogorama!

All well, got the template – now on to getting the content sorted :)

    Thanks!

  • Hey 👋🏻

Wow, amazingly helpful – and great to know it was actually “hidden” in the GitHub repo under blogorama!

I got more details from the Themes team — Magalog is being renamed to Blogorama 😊

They are working on resolving the issue now.

Thanks for bringing this up, though! 🏅
