Hello
I want to change bartolinibrands.wordpress.com to bartolinibrands.com. How do I do this? what is the cost?

Also, I have business cards printed with bartolinibrands.wordpress.com and dont want to lose the site for now as it has content. Not sure if the site will disappear if I change it to .com

After you make the domain mapping purchase here > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and do the set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Hi @timethief, I need some help too, please…
I did all the process for my blog mensalco.wordpress.com, I bought the domain http://www.mensalco.cl, I paid the mapping at wordpress.com and 6 days ago I changed the DNS on my registrar, but it showed me and error message: “IP address is missing for the server NS1.wordpress.com”. (same with NS2 and NS3)

What am I doing wrong?

Although mensalco.cl has been registered, it is not using WordPress.com nameservers. If your domain is mapped to a self-hosted site, then your configuration may be fine as currently set up. If you wish to host your site at WordPress.com, you will need to update your nameservers as outlined below. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain

Probably will require a zone record – this thread has already been flagged for the staff to help – they can add a zone record for you if you want to host here at WordPress.COM

@mensalcoweb – you are asking questions typical of someone that wants to domain map mensalco.cl, to your blog here – mensalco.wordpress.com/ – most of the time zone records are needed to make the domain mapping work for a .cl domain

Hi @mensalcoweb,

A zone record has been added for mensalco.cl. Remember that it can take up to a full 72 hours for propagation to occur for any changes involving DNS, so make sure that if it doesn’t work immediately that you give it enough time to propagate to you!

Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:

NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Hi @kardotim, I did it and there’s an error message that says:

Se han encontrado los siguientes errores:

Falta dirección IP para servidor ‘NS1.WORDPRESS.COM’
Falta dirección IP para servidor ‘NS2.WORDPRESS.COM’
Falta dirección IP para servidor ‘NS3.WORDPRESS.COM’

In english:
There are the following errors:
IP address is missing for server ‘NS1.WORDPRESS.COM’, etc…

What IP address should I write?

Are you using the NS (name server) field to enter the NS1/NS2/NS3 addresses? Otherwise contact your domain registrar to help you set these records.

Yes, there is a column for the name server, where I’m writting NS1, NS2 and NS3 and other column for IP address of each of them…

Normally you could leave the IP address column empty. Otherwise feel free to try one of these addresses:

72.233.2.58

76.74.254.123
