One of the best features of Freshly Pressed was the link to a wordpress tag included with each item. It was nice to see what other bloggers, like myself, who hadn’t been Freshed yet were writing on particular topics.
Discover has changed this to a category link for Freshed posts.
Yes, I know I can still search the tags by manually typing them into my browser’s URL field. But… really, whoever does that?
And that’s the real issue for me, as someone who’s never been Freshed. I know other bloggers were dropping in on my posts because it was so easy to DISCOVER my posts and those of other un-Freshed bloggers using these tag links. I have gained dozens of followers through them.
Now… well, that’s just been made a bit more difficult.

Now WordPress.com’s Staff editors can drive traffic to blog posts they select in five ways:
featuring them in the two Staff blogs that have mega SEO ie.- https://dailypost.wordpress.com/
- https://en.blog.wordpress.com/
- the Freshly Pressed page;
- the Recommended Blogs page;
and also on
the Discover page.
