DePo Masthead archive/rss pages

    I am using DePo Masthead. When I am logged in looking at the list of my pages, I see the 4 I intend to use only. When I look at the site, I see “RSS Feed” and “Archives” listed as pages as well. I would like to remove them. So, 1) are those two just automatic (but not listed under “pages”) and either way 2) how can I get rid of them? thanks!

    These are the static Pages that carry and attract little Google juice and cannot be assigned tags and categories that assist those using search engines to find them:
    * About|
    * Books|
    * News|
    * Appearances|
    * Interviews|
    * Resources & Links|
    * Press Kit|
    * Contact|
    * Archives|
    * RSS Feed

    These are the static Pages that are displayed on that theme by default:
    * Archives|
    * RSS Feed

    In other words you created all the other static Pages which are intended to be used for content that rarely, if ever changes. In gact if you attemtp to edit those two Pages out you will not be able to do so as they are included in the theme by default.

    Every time you publish a blog post it will be automatically added to the Archives. And the only way the posts as opposed to pages (the two are very different) you publish will be known to search engines others on the internet is through the RSS feed.

    This theme is a “magazine” style theme. There will be 3 posts displayed on the front page and the length of the longest post will dictate the length of the page. Any other widgets you want to use will be added to the “footer” below the posts.

    Perhaps if you tell us exactly what would be the optimal blog from your POV we will be able to assist you to achieve that. But before you post that please read these support documentation entries.
