dashboard comments section are missing on my site

  • I am not able to connect with my blog readers. There is no comments or feedback tab available on my site. I only received one mail once wordpress for seeking approval for one of the comment posted on my blog that’s how I came to know that there were many such comments waiting for my approval otherwise there is no notification or message on wordpress my site. And I have changed all settings where no comment should be pending for my approval but come directly to my blog. Which is still not happening. Please help me with the information how do i get the comment or feedback tab on my site and could connect readers and respond to their comments instantly. Readers feedback is always motivational for a writer. I do not want to miss on this. Please resolve the issue and guide me. Thanks & Regards . Missmogha

  • Hi missmogha,

Are you able to access the comments section once logged into your site? That would be here: https://missmogha.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php

It is possible that some of the comments are being marked as Spam, and that you would not receive notification of that. If the above link works, I recommend trying here: https://missmogha.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?comment_status=spam

Please let me know if this does not help!

  • Also, when you are logged in and there is a new comment on your site waiting for approval, you should see an alert bell with a red/orange dot in the upper right corner of the Admin bar. If you click on it, the comment approval or review section will open on the right side of your screen and you can click on each comment to review, approve, delete or mark as spam.

As @newarkbee mentioned, you can also manage your comments in the WP Admin dashboard following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-comments/

  • However, looking at this post on your site: missmogha.wordpress.com/2017/05/10/learn-to-love-yourself-first-and-see-the-difference it seems that all the comments on that specific post are spam, which you should now go back in your comment moderation and mark them as spam. Approving or allowing spam comments increases the likelihood of more spam comments being posted on your site.

Although Akismet, our spam prevention plugin, is generally very good about recognizing spam and will put spam in the spam folder, here are some resources that you will want to read to educate yourself to recognize those spam comments:
