Creating a drop down menu for archive?

    I am a complete beginner and truly don’t know what I’m doing, so bear with me! I have managed to assign my categories to a drop down menu in the primary menu section. Now I’m wanting to do the same thing but with my archive, so September 2017, October 2017 etc. Can this be done in any way?

    Also, I am assuming I won’t be able to customise the font of the drop down menu before I’ve upgraded to a Premium or Business plan?

    Based on my understanding, I believe you want to create archives and get it listed in drop down menu. You can create pages and add them in Menu drop down.
    Once you create pages you can add [archives] shortcode.

    I am not sure if you can display archives of different months but here’s a work around. You can assign categories to posts as September2k17 or October2k17 and then use [display-posts category="October2k17"] shortcode.

    You can do basic customization on fonts at My Sites > Themes > Customize > Fonts. For advanced changes specific to an element you need either of Premium or Business plan.

    Hi again,

    Thank you so much for your help. I created a separate page with the archive shortcode as you suggested. There did seem to be a way to code it in order to get the most recent 12 months displayed by month, however, once I’ve blogged for more than a year I’m not sure how I’ll get an all-inclusive overview. Cross that bridge when I come to it I guess! Unless I can simply change the 12 in [archives format=option type=monthly limit=12 show count=true] to any higher number?
    Either way, that issue is addressed for now!

    I also drew some inspiration from what you said and will use categories as a means of assigning months to my posts. That way I can designate them as subcategories/drop downs from my primary menu. I didn’t realise this was possible before, as I thought posts could only belong to one category and therefore would be shown in the relevant month category at the cost of being in the correct post category.
