    Our small non-profit is using Ixion in our free WordPress account. When I set up the website we put in a copyright notice on the bottom left hand corner. Our website address is: https://johanashineduvcw.wordpress.com/

    I would like to change the date from 2021 to 2022 in the copyright notice. However, in admin I went to Footers and the copyright statement is not there. So I went into the Ixion theme and tried to customize the copyright statement there. But neither work, I can’t find it.

    How do I find where the copyright is stored in the theme so I can change it?

    Hi there,

    As it is a text type, you can go to Appearance > customize > widgets and choose one of the 4 footer options.
    You should check where the text is positioned and make the appropriate changes there.

    That is what is confusing me. I did go to Appearance/customize/widgets. There are 4 options there, but none of them contain the copyright info that appears on my website.

    Hi there,

    Looks like you used a legacy widget for that copyright info that it’s not being correctly displayed now that we switched to the new widgets.

    To fix that, you need to navigate to the Footer 1 widget area, remove any legacy widgets, and then add a Paragraph block with the updated copyright info.

    Hi Fstat: Thank you for your response. The copyright info is actually still displaying correctly on our webpage. The problem is I want to update the year of the copyright from 2121 to 2022. I can’t find it in in the admin settings anywhere. Would I have to delete all of my footers, why would the other footers work, but not that particular one for copyright?

    Hi there,

    The text you want to update is found in the Footer 1 area of your widgets. To access that, you will want to go to this page: https://wordpress.com/customize/

    Once you are there, click on the “Widgets” tab on the left, then click on the tab for “Footer 1,” and you will see the text you want to edit.

    This is difficult to explain in words, so I recorded a quick video to show you how to locate and edit the text.
