Comments not showing for password protected posts

Hi, yesterday morning the blog was fine. then in the afternoon I started getting reports that when people visited the daily post they could view comments posted before entering the password (could not see the actual post yet, just the comments). After entering the password, they could see the post but not any comments “This post is password protected. Enter the password to view comments.” there is no way (that I can see) to reenter the password to view the comments. I have looked back and all my password protected pages are having the same issue.
I changed the post to “public” and the comments appeared, but when I put password back on, it was the same thing. and with today’s post there is no way to enter comments at all. I’ve checked in the dashboard and comments are still on, so no issue with that, and like I said it’s only effecting posts with a password.

I am having the same problem. Since you have report this problem 12 hours ago, and look like WordPress had resolved your. Can you share how they fix the problem? Thanks

As far as I know all dracos1 did was contact Staff just as I told you to do in the other thread you posted. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/all-comments-are-not-display-for-password-protected-page?replies=4#post-801171

You are correct I do not see any comment but the post itself, which is more than my is showing.

chungchengschool, like timethief said, I have contacted staff to try and fix the problem. I have not yet received a reply.

Staff are very busy providing support for over 25 million. Please be patient while waiting. Also note that Staff deal with support tickets with the earliest dates first, so if you keep contacting them the date moves forward and it takes longer to get assistance.

That’s good to know. :) I haven’t contacted them again but I was going to if I still had no reply by tonight. Now I’ll just wait.

I have the exact same problem for a couple of days already and contacted support yesterday. So far no reply :-(

Neither contact the support nor receive any repy from them. This problem should affect more than just three of us. Thanks for letting us know Timethief. However, perhaps more people report for the same problem will help the support group notice this problem. I am IT profession myself and currently having more than 15 problems assigned to me that need to be fixed, and I can’t work on all of them at the same time. So it is the one that affect more users or the one that will stop the business function get done first. Just my 2 cents

If yhere are others then I assume they are reporting the issue as well. Their support tickets will be dealt with by Staff in order of the earliest date to the most recent date just as I have expressed above.

Having the same problem :(
Changing the passwor won’t help, but taking pw off you can read and write comments -
Any news on that issue? Comments are still not working on my blog and no reply from support yet. :-(
