Clipart or Images from Google
-
When inserting clipart found online into our posts is it okay to do so or are we required to give “credit” to the url or place we found the clipart? I have been using clipart or images simply copy/paste-able from google. They are not the ones that are marked “rights reserved” or anything, but I wanted to be sure.

Google is a search engine and it indexes content including images. The images in Google are not there for anyone to help themselves. The vast majority under copyright and cannot be used without the owner’s permission. That’s why Google posts a copyright warning. “Website for this image. Images may be subject to copyright.” You have to check to see if your can use any image and under what conditions your can use it assuming it can be used at all.
