Can't verify site with Google Webmaster Tools

    I am having trouble verifying my site with Google Webmaster Tools. I followed the recommended steps adding only the content of the verification code to the tools on the WP site, then click verify, only to find that Google wasn’t able to find my site.

    Any suggestions? …I’m also having trouble verifying with Pinterest.

    This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins and support forums http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
