Can’t change number of Text widgets
-
All of my widgets to continued to work just fine after “the change”, but I now want to add another text widget. I click the “Add” link and it appears on the RHS with the little edit link, but when I click that, it just disappears. I wondered if this was because the original setting was to allow only 1 text widget. In the old version, there was a pulldown menu to change the number of text widgets, but I can’t find it here. HELP! I am using Vista / IE7. TIA

Someone else reported that as well. I’m using nine and of course can’t even see the Add button.
Did you update your Flash? If you have, I’m all out of ideas I’m afraid.
-
After adding the text widget, click on “save changes” prior to trying to edit the widget.

Thanks so much thesacredpath. Problem solved. I don’t suppose you (or anybody) could look at the blog and tell me why the HTML that I have inserted in the text box is showing as code and not as the Flickr badge that I want it to be? I don’t know a thing about HTML. TIA. ThisMechaniCan

You’re probably using the javascript version of the widget. Try just using the HTML one. We can’t have dynamic widgets here at Wp.com.
Also, we can’t go to your blog unless you give us a link to it.

I’ve never tried to put he flickr code into a text widget. WordPress does provide a flickr widget for you. Since I don’t have a flickr account, I’ve never used it, but this should help:
-
@raincoaster, it is here http://thismechanican.wordpress.com/ I can see the code in the text widget.

Thanks, raincoaster and sacredpath. Both of the badges offered by Flickr are dynamic, so I guess they won’t work. I have got the wordpress flickr widget, I just wanted to jazz it up a bit, but it’s fine as it is.
Thanks again, thismechanican. -
