Cannot Click on Nested Folders
-
I have created a folder entitled Photos of Friends at Various Celebrations and created four sub-folders to nest under.
My problem is that I cannot click on the sub-folders. They appear on the screen when I click on the parent, but they are “slippery”. I cannot click on any one of them although there is content.
What would you suggest?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

“Folders” are references to WordPress.org files. I’m assuming your mean sub-pages.
Note that not all themes provide dropdowns natively. We can create a custom menu on any theme so we do get dropdowns.Have you done this?

Changing the Order & Creating Sub-Menus http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-creating-sub-menusTroubleshooting – My Pages/sub-pages aren’t appearing
They must be public pages – not private – not draft.
Public – The page will be visible to everyone.
Protected – The page is protected with a password you set. Only people who have the password can view a protected page.
Private – Pages are only visible to blog Editors and Administrators. Private pages are not visible in Reader, feeds, or in any search. A page can be private without being password protected.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/To edit the Page(s) and check visibility settings go to > Dashboard > Pages > All Pages and hover over the page title then click “edit” http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/
Provided you have removed all hierarchical designation of parent pages and all numbers for order, then all you do is go here > Appearance > Menu and do this

Thank you for your suggestions. I had created the nested pages by following the custom menu directions. With your suggestions I have gone back and re-created hoping that I would find a hitch somewhere. No such luck. The problem persists.
What I have done as a temporary, but not satisfactory way of managing, is in the parent page I have inserted the URL’s for all the nested pages.
My web-site is http://www.bonnielendrum.com and the problem is on the left column, last page: Photos of ….
I am grateful for the suggestions, however still am having the same problem.

You have a browser related issue because I am using Firefox 25.1 and I can see the flyout menu to the sub-pages when I hover over the Photos of Friends at Various Celebrations link.
Please work through what follows and report back.1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

Yikes! I can see the sub-page links but I can’t click them. This theme needs Themes Staff attention. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

These are great suggestions…Thank you!
The problem may be that I have been working on a lap-top this week using Ubuntu. My thinking right now is that I should wait to return to my desk top and work through each of these suggestions.
Thank you! Will report back.

It appears that the problem for the sub-page links was associated with Ubuntu. Desk top with Windows is working perfectly. Ubuntu is still a problem, but it is not one I am going to fuss over. So few people use that operating system.
Thank you for you help on trying to resolve the issue. I found your instructions to be crystal clear, and confidence inspiring because they led me through all the steps I had been through on my own.
Best regards,

@Bonnie
I’m relieved to hear you are up and running on Windows but perplexed as to why this was a Ubuntu issue. I’ll leave the tagging for Staff in place so they are aware of this. Lastly, I want to thank you for your kind words about my instructions. You made my day and it’s just begun. -
Hi Bonnie,
I just checked your site in Firefox on Ubuntu, and I see what you mean! It looks like the default settings in Firefox for Ubuntu cause problems for the sub menus on your site. However, by zooming out (under View > Zoom > Zoom Out in Firefox), the menu worked for me and your site looked like it does in Firefox on my other operating systems. Does that work for you?
Timethief, thanks so much for your excellent help (as usual!) in this thread. :)

Hello there,
Thank you for this observation. I was not able to make it work.
Since I have the site working now with Windows and Apple products I am satisfied.
Best regards,
Bonnie
