Cannot authorise Google Docs to WordPress account
-
I’m trying to import a Google Doc article into wordpress. I have jetpack and WordPress add-on for Google doc installed. When I try to open WordPress form Google Docs, I get an error message that ‘Authorization is required to perform this action’.
This was previously working for me and I believe it has something to do with the Chrome Version 69.0.3497.81 update that got rolled out.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Looks like you’re in the wrong forum. It appears that you’re using the self-hosted version of WordPress and you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/
These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:

Hi @fstat,
I hope you don’t mind I jump in here. I wonder if OP was actually referring to the WordPress.com extension for Google Chrome browser (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/wordpresscom/khjnjifipfkgglficmipimgjpbmlbemd?hl=en)?
Where should user seek help if they encountered an issue with that extension?
Thanks.

jedng – Could you confirm for us if you’re using the Chrome extension that reginabally inquired about?

Hi lizkaroski, reginabally,
No, I’m not referring to wordpress.com extension for Chrome (though I have that installed as well).
I’m referring to wordpress.com ADD-ON within Google Docs. It was working properly until 2 days ago so that I could properly import a Google Doc document into wordpress with formatting intact. Now, it shows an authorisation error.

I see. Then I think you’re referring to this: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/wordpresscom-for-google-d/baibkfjlahbcogbckhjljjenalhamjbp
I’m having the same Google Chrome version that you have and I don’t have a problem connecting to my Jetpack-connected self-hosted site.
Have you tried to disconnect it and re-connect again? And try clearing your browser’s cache too.

I tried in incognito mode that seems to have fixed it. Thanks for helping a noob out reginabally!
