  Is it possible to transfer all my blog posts and components to an independent server. I would like to keep all my widgets, posts, and formating all intact.

  It’s doubtful you can keep all your widgets just as they are, but pretty much all the themes we have here are available to WordPress.org blogs on an independent server. What you’d do is find widgets for WP.org blogs that do the same thing and install those.

  But you should be able to transfer the contents and comments; it just depends which kind of blog you’re importing them to.
