Can I move widgets?

Can I move widgets on a theme from the bottom of the page to the top or side?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi David,
Your username is linked to a link that will not load and we cannot see which theme the blog in question is wearing so we can’t answer you. Each theme is unique and where the widget areas are placed depends on the coding in the underlying template. Please post the URL for the blog in question starting with http:// so we can give you an accurate answer. -

The blog at the site appears to have been CSS edited As you are asking for SS editing help this thread will have to be moved to the correct forum. I’ll flag it for you so it gets moved.

Thank you. I think I requested the CSS editing so that I could change the font and increase its size. I would like to have the widgets on the right-hand side as no one can see them at the very bottom of the page.

The Volunteers who help with CSS editing are few in number so you will have to patiently wait until they locate this thread and help you.

Okay, cool. Hopefully we can get it sorted and the page looking neater. Thank you for your help.

David,
In order to move the sidebar to the right, I widened the layout a bit. You will need to modify your header image so that it spans across the layout. The current layout is 820px wide.
I’m also hiding the “secondary” sidebar, so you might want to move the “search” and “email subscription” widget to the “primary” sidebar.
Now, paste this code in your CSS Editor. This should be the ONLY code in there, and make sure the “add to existing CSS” radio button is checked.
#wrapper {overflow: hidden; width: 820px;} #header, #access, #footer { width: 100%; clear: both;} #access { margin: 0 0 10px; } #container { float: left; margin: 0; padding: 0; overflow: hidden; width: 600px; } #content { overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; width: inherit; } .hentry {margin: 0 !important;} #primary { clear: none; float: right; padding: 0 10px; width: 180px; } #twitter-4 {width: 180px;} #secondary {display: none;}

Just seen this and have made the changes to the blog. Thank you very much.
The “Search” text in the search bar is being cut off however, as is some of the text for the Email Subscription widget.

Add this to your code and everything in the sidebar should fit in the allowed space:
#primary ul li {width:180px;}

Super-duper! Thanks halluke.
But where should I paste it in the code? At the end of the current coding?

Under the Header there is a grey line which runs along the page to the right.
How can I increase the width of my Header and postings, as at the moment there is a lot of space on the left and righthand side.

In the code devblog posted above you need to change the values that appear next to the occurances of “width”. The first one is for the overall width of your blog, the second for the main content area and the third for the sidebar. The third value will also need to be repeated in the short line of code I posted for you before. If you add 100px to the overall width make sure the amounts you add to the main content and sidebar areas also add up to 100 or the padding might end up looking a little odd.
