can i import my wordpress.org database?
-
I have a wordpress.org database on my own domain. Is there any way I can import my .org database into my wordpress.com site?

You can export your existing wordpress.org blog into an xml file and then import it into a wordpress.com blog. -> Manage > Import
It is strongly recommended that you update your wordpress.org version prior to doing the export and that you jettison all spam prior to the export.
Your links have to exported and imported separately http://INSERTNAMEOFYOURBLOG/wp-links-opml.php
I also recommend that you read these so you are clear on the differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org

And when you get through all that you will bear in mind that leaves all your images in posts right where they were. :) On your old blog :(

If you can, upgrade to WordPress 2.3, then export the file from Manage > Export
If that really is not possible, send me the zipped (it must be zipped!) .sql file and I’ll see what I can do.

@liberating
You need to inquire over at http://wordpress.org/support since we use different software here at wordpress.com and cannot answer your question. There should also be information at http://wordpress.org about updating and it depends on what version you are now using as to what is involved.
