Blank spaces added to edited posts
-
I have no idea where to post this. If someone could help me I’d be eternally grateful. I might even bake you cookies. I tried to change the font on previous posts and it actually worked on a few (amazing, given my complete ignorance) but it left these hideous blank spaces. I can’t seem to get rid of them. When I try to edit these posts at all now more spaces are added. Please help!

Hi-any chance you’re posting from a program like MSWord? Whatever it is, it’s added a ton of messy code.

Thank you! Yes, I copied and pasted from MSWord. Bad, bad, bad! I won’t do it again. Meanwhile, any ideas on how I can fix those two posts? My html is very limited. I could just delete and repost (Couldn’t I?) but then I’ll lose any comments. (Won’t I?)

Yes, you’ll lose the comments. My advice is to go to Edit the posts, copy all the text, paste it into Notepad or Wordpad using Paste Special->Remove Formatting, then in the Edit page click to the HTML editor and delete everything in there. Everything. Then copy the text you’ve got in your Notepad or Wordpad, paste it in, and format at will in the WP editor. You may need to keep a record of URLs and images and such so you can re-add them easily.
In future you may want to use an offline blog editor like Blogdesk, Ecto, or Windows Live Writer. They work much like Word and don’t cause these problems.
