Aligning an Image

  • Hi,

I have an image that looks fine in the blog, emailing the blog when posting, but does not center in an RSS feed.

The London image is coming up left instead of centered. Why is this, please?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I think it depends on what reader software a person is using. I see your logo on the right with whatever comes with FireFox. I’m no expert in this area, obviously.

One thing you might try, and I know it does not work with all themes available on WordPress.com, though it does work with many I’ve tried, is to use the custom excerpt box to put a few lines of text for each post, and your image, aligned as you want it to appear.

The custom excerpt box is active for displaying posts on the home page, or only on archive and category pages in a few themes. But for the RSS feed, it has worked in the past for specifying how your feed looks when it goes out. There have been a lot of changes here on wp.com in the past several months, so this may no longer work. Also, different readers process the info they pick up from your site in different ways.

  • Here is a link to the Support document about custom excerpts:

  • Thanks, much appreciated.
