Adding Sidebar Widget Shifts Content off Screen

  • I am trying to edit my website to use the new WordPress search widgets for sorting content. However, whenever I add one of these widgets, it shifts all the main content of the page off the screen. How do I fix this? The old legacy widgets don’t do this.
    What it is currently doing
As you can notice, the “Shop” section and all the products are shown below the filters tab. They should be right next to them, as shown in the second picture on the link.

Is there anything that I can do to fix this? I tried to edit the settings for the widget with no real success. The CSS class seems to be the same for both widgets, so I don’t really see how it is possible that I am getting this error.

    Any insight would be amazing.

  • Hi there,

Can you please let me know your site’s address so I can point you in the right direction of getting support?

  • Thanks for that! Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but instead a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org ) but hosted elsewhere.

We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. But, I can get you pointed in the right direction.

It looks like you’re using Divi for your theme – I would recommend reaching out to them to see why the layout is breaking when you’re trying to add a widget to your page:
