  I am trying to edit my website to use the new WordPress search widgets for sorting content. However, whenever I add one of these widgets, it shifts all the main content of the page off the screen. How do I fix this? The old legacy widgets don’t do this.

  Could you share the site you need help with?
  If you have a page where this is currently happening, share that with us too, it would be so much easier to help you if we can see the error.

  Also, could you confirm what widget are you using for sorting content? I imagine you are using the Search Block. This widget normally occupies the whole line unless you are using Columns or a Layout Grid to organize it, most likely there is where the problem is.
